The First Season
Summer 2024
HAL kicked off with coed volleyball and men’s basketball leagues, drawing 12 volleyball teams and 4 basketball teams. This short summer season established our presence in Winnipeg’s North End and proved the demand for competitive, casual local sports.
Season 2 expansion
Fall 2024
With growing interest, HAL expanded volleyball to 14 teams and basketball to 6. We introduced free agent teams for volleyball and implemented formal team jerseys and sponsor partnerships for basketball, creating a more organized and professional atmosphere.
Tournaments & Tiered Play
Winter 2025
HAL hosted its first official Men’s and Women’s volleyball tournament. Basketball launched its third season with 10 teams, mirroring traditional leagues with official standings, playoffs, and expanded media coverage via livestreams.
